Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be Bhutanese to join?
No. The club was founded by members of the Bhutanese community in Melbourne, and everyone who respects the sport, its traditions and our club rules is welcome to apply.
How is Bhutanese archery different from target archery?
Traditional Bhutanese archery is a team sport with its own customs: traditional dress, songs, friendly banter between teams, celebration of good shots and shared meals. It is both a test of skill and a social occasion. See our Heritage page for more.
How much does membership cost?
Annual membership is AUD $600 and half-yearly membership is AUD $300. Current prices are always shown on the Membership page.
How do I join?
Create an account through New Member Registration, verify your email address and submit your application. Once a club administrator approves it you can pay online, and your permanent DMAC membership number and digital card are issued straight away.
Can I renew early?
Yes. Early renewal starts from your current expiry date, so you never lose paid membership time.
Where is the range?
Our members currently shoot at a range in Melbourne's north-western area. Range details are shared with members and confirmed for each event.
Is there a beginner programme?
Yes. Beginner training sessions are listed on the Events page when scheduled. Safety briefings are required before shooting.
